The Critical Listening Environment for Audio Research (C.L.E.A.R) Laboratory is a state-of-the art facility for the recording, production, and mixing of musical projects. The C.L.E.A.R Lab is a hub for creativity and learning within the Department of Music and Arts Technology at the Purdue School of Engineering and Technology. In August 2016, the Critical Listening Environment for Audio Research (C.L.E.A.R.) Laboratory was installed at IUPUI. Assistant Professor Dr. Doug Bielmeier worked with Carl Tatz, a studio installation expert from Nashville, to create the state-of-the art listening space. The Lab is currently outfitted with an analog SSL mixing console, PhantomFocus MixRoom™, PFS 3200 Ultra High Definition - Precision Monitoring Instruments with beryllium tweeters and the THUD™ - Pistonic Chamber-Damped Subwoofer System, and the latest versions of Pro Tools, Live, and Max.
